Page Turner Studios was created because we believed independent authors deserved something better.
When we were publishing our own books and looking for professional formatting support, we found there were very few businesses dedicated solely to helping self-publishing authors. Many services were bundled together, while others required working with overseas freelancers or online marketplaces. It was often difficult to know who was preparing your book, when it would be completed or who to contact if you had questions along the way.
We also discovered that long wait times were common. Some providers were booked months in advance, while others couldn’t offer clear turnaround times or regular updates. Preparing a book for publication should be exciting, but instead it felt uncertain and far more complicated than it needed to be.
That’s why we created Page Turner Studios.
We wanted to build a full-time Australian business where independent authors could work directly with real people, receive honest advice and know exactly who was helping prepare their book. A place where communication is straightforward, turnaround times are explained and authors feel supported throughout the publishing process.

Originally from Ballarat, Victoria, Mel has been a lifelong lover of books and storytelling. Fantasy first sparked her passion for reading, but over the years she has developed an appreciation for a wide range of genres. She understands the excitement that comes with finishing a manuscript and the questions that often follow when it’s time to prepare a book for publication.
At Page Turner Studios, Mel supports authors with professional print book and eBook formatting while also helping them navigate the next stages of self-publishing. Whether it’s providing practical marketing guidance, helping authors understand how to increase the visibility of their book or connecting them with trusted publishing professionals, she’s passionate about helping authors achieve their publishing goals.
For Mel, the most rewarding part of her role is seeing an author’s hard work become a finished book and knowing she’s helped make that journey a little easier. Every manuscript is unique, and she’s committed to giving each author the personalised support, guidance and encouragement they deserve as they prepare to share their story with the world.
Damien
Page Turner Studios was created after Damien experienced firsthand how difficult it could be for independent authors to find reliable, professional self-publishing support. Too often, the options available were fragmented, difficult to navigate or lacked the personalised guidance authors needed when preparing their books for publication.
He believed there was a better way.
Rather than creating another formatting service, Damien set out to build a dedicated self-publishing support business where independent authors could access professional services, practical guidance and trusted industry connections throughout their publishing journey.
Today, Damien works behind the scenes, leading the ongoing development of Page Turner Studios. His focus is on continually improving the systems, technology and processes that support the team and help deliver a consistent, personalised experience for every author.
His vision continues to shape the business around one simple idea: making the self-publishing journey easier, more transparent and more accessible for independent authors.
He believes every author deserves honest advice, professional support and a team that genuinely cares about their story.
